I've been to the Statue of liberty and it was a pleasant experience....I think it was because I went on an early May Saturday morning. It is a really nice place to visit......I'm not a big fan of the SI ferry so I would recommend actually going to liberty island. It was a much needed getaway from the city. It is one of the best places to see the city skyline. I admit that there was a line to get into the statue but it wasn't that long and at least I can say I was in the statue. Plus there was an interesting display about the building of the statue of liberty. It showed step by step models of the framework that was done by Alexandre-Gustave Eiffel and models of the statue its self by sculptor Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi. And once I was done seeing the statue I just sat on a bench enjoying the beautiful sunny day. Everywhere in New York is crowded and usually overpriced. You just have to deal with it. Being born in Brooklyn the most overcrowded borough I have learned to and I'm sure others could for one day.
