We decided to go to Branson, Missouri for Spring Break. Even though there aren't much shows to enjoy at this time of the year, we mostly spent our visit there enjoying the scenery. Being in Kansas, I don't get to enjoy nice scenery since its so flat here. It was really nice to see the nice scenery in Branson. When we were going there, we did not have to fight any traffic, which is a very big problem in the summer season. We got around Branson with no problems with traffic. However, it isn't easy getting around Branson even without traffic. The main road(Highway 76, "The Strip") is packed with signs and billboards, so it is very easy to pass a road and make a wrong turn. Also, there are so many hills there that the roads go down really steep sometimes and there are very sharp turns on the roads. We got a good deal for a hotel at this time of year. The hotel rates are half as much in Spring as they are in summer. We were in the Fairfield Inn, which was a very nice hotel.
We went hiking on a very nice trail which took us down and back up more than 300 steps of carved rocks which made a staircase with a great view of Lake Taneycomo and the Ozarks. There was a small cave going into the hill there, too. We also went to another trail, which was about half a mile long which led to an observation tower. The nature in Branson is a nice break from the lights and commercialism of Branson.
