My family and I visited the Meteorite Crater in April of 2001. Quite cold and windy when we were there.
We found the staff at the facility to be quite informative.
They have a gift shop which is quite large. In addition to the gift shop they have quite a multitude of information on the Meteorite Crater as well as an extensive bit of accumulated data on the space program. Also included in this exhibit is a large map depicting the Meteorite Crater with lights that when you touch different buttons depicting different areas of the Meteorite Crater the lights light up showing you the location on the board. There is also a piece of an actual Meteorite on display which you can see and touch as well as a slide presentation and question and answer session.
We were unable to take the walking tour of the Crater due to the weather. Quite interesting.
This was one of the many stops on our way from Sedona to the Grand Canyon.
Anyone interested in the aeronautics or space program would be thrilled to learn all they have to teach here.
