Pros: Quite a compact & cosy, ship
Cons: Not enough time in ports
The Bottom Line: A good ship with a great itinerary. Tours expensive, port stays short, but overall a very good cruise

In general this cruise was a great experience. The ports are interesting and varied. We enjoyed them all for different reasons, not enough time was allowed in most ports with Copenhagen particularly as we arrived at 7 pm and left at 11.30am the next morning. All the others had a 4.00 deadline with the exception of St. Petersburg, Russia where we had 2 full days and Waremunde, Germany to allow for the tour to Berlin to return. We were really disappointed with Russia in that we could only go on the organised tours, which, in my opinion were overpriced, as were they all, and saw only Palaces and museums. In one case to Peterhof the queue to get in was over an hour and the tour around 45 mins for which we paid $60 each person including our 7 yr old daughter. Kids pay full price.
The food was great and the entertainment as good as you could expect. Activities were well thought out and laid out on a rather poorly printed daily "Cruise News".
It was a good family ship, apart from the excursions, and is more intimate than the previous grander ship that we have cruised on making you feel more comfortable in the public rooms and restaurants.
Freestyle dining suited us and we really enjoyed it as we could choose times according to our evening entertainment or just how we felt. There were queues at peak times but that was to be expected
I would choose NCL again for my family if the price is right. They are not the top of the range but more than adequate to have a great time and notch up another cruise to your list.
