Nickelodean has been on cable for quite a while now. It is the main cable channel for children from 1 to 100! While there has been imitators, (Disney, Cartoon network, and Fox family) Nick is still by far the best!
Nickelodean is a network which can cater to ALL age groups. In the morning, they have Nick Junior. Aimed at 3 to 5 year olds, my 2 year old abso lutely loves it! There wonderful morning line up includes Blues Clues, Little Bear, Gullah Gullah Island, Richard Scary's World, Franklin, Maisy, and Kipper. All of these shows are aimed at pre schoolers, and I trust them. I do not have to worry about there content being innapropriate, which is a big plus. It is also a wonderful learning tool. Each shows teaches, as well as entertains.
During the afternoon hours, you'll find cartoons galore! Shows like Rugrats, the Wild Thornberry's, and Hey Arnold are mainly geared towards the 5-12 age range. Once again, there is no unnaceptable content. Cartoons without violence, a blessing!
From 6-8 pm, Nick shows variety programs, which are geared at all ages. All That, and The Amanda Show are funny, witty and well written. And the evening gives ua adults a break. Nick at Night shows classics like I LOve Lucy, and The Jeffersons, some of my personal favorites!
On Saturday nights, Nick has what is called SNICK (Saturday night Nick). Shows original shows, andcartoons till about 10pm, est. Since parents sometimes allow ther children to stay up late on Saturday nights, here is a refreshing change of pace for them to watch.
All in all, Nick is a wonderful and diverse network. Catereing to all ages, young and old!
