| nd31irish's Full Review: Notre Dame Stadium |
Being the best university in the nation, this school has the best football stadium around. The stadium is filled with tradition from Knute Rockney, to George Gipp, to the four horsemen. The atmosphere of the stadium is incredible, mostly due to the rowdy students and alumni. With the addition of over 25,000 seats, the stadium is quite the site to see. Besides the actual stadium, the campus is covered with amazing landmarks (touchdown Jesus, the Golden Dome and the Grotto to name a few).
If you're hungry going into the game, you will probably stay that way. The consession is filled with traditional stadium food (raw hotdogs, popcorn, pretzels, nachos, soda and candy) which isn't cheap. Most people tailgate before so this isn't a problem.
Every seat in the stadium has a good view of the field. Depending on who you're rooting for, some seats are better than others. For example, opposing fans might not like sitting near the ND student section and marching band (the feeling is mutual).
The largest problem with this stadium is that tickets go fast. Students and faculty use up about 15,000 tickets and the rest of the stadium is filled with locals and alumni. Unless you have a good connection, it's very hard getting tickets, especially if ND is having a good season.
