| bonaire's Full Review: General Motors Place |
I visited this arena in January of 1996 to see the Dallas Stars and the Vancouver Canucks and was very impressed both by the arena and the area around it. The tickets,as for most NHL teams are rather expensive but you can get a great view from anywhere in the building. It was easy to get to the arena, we took the Skytrain(Vancouver's rail transit system) right from our downtown hotel to the doorstep of the place. The food was very good for stadium fare and the beer cold. I thought it was hard to navigate the inside of the arena because of a private club that is in the center but that was one of only two negatives. The other negative was that after the game we planned on taking Skytrain back to the hotel but there was a massive line that we chose not to wait in. All in all it is a very nice place. It is clean, very easily accessible, and with the strong dollar versus the canadian dollar, it is a great value.
The city is fantastic as well. This has got to be the cleanest city in the world and very safe too.
If you ever get the chance see an event at General Motors Place, do it, and explore the city before and after!
