Pros: Excellent view of event, good food, comfortable seating in premium section.
Cons: Food is very expensive, driving in is a hassle.
The Bottom Line: The Garden is certainly a place to enjoy an event. The food can be expensive but eat before you leave and you'll be fine.

I have been a fan of the Boston Celtics for as long as I can remember. I was fortunate enough to see such greats play in the old Boston Garden as Larry Bird, Robert Parish, Kevin McHale, and Reggie Lewis. The Garden certainly has some big shoes to fill but the way it is going now, it should not have a problem.
The design of the new Garden is innovative. The seats are staggered just so, that no matter where you sit to watch an event, even if you have a tall person sitting right in front of you, you can still see just fine. The seats are as comfortable as they are going to get, an improvement over the seats in the old Garden for sure. There is a significant improvement in leg room, only those dedicated fans of the old Garden know what I am talking about but the seats there were very crammed and tight. In the new Garden it is not so. There is much more leg room to make your experience more comfortable, and being a tall person myself, I do tend to notice these things. The Garden is also very well kept and clean. The workers, without a doubt, work very hard to keep it clean and running smoothly.
The Premium Seating is very comfortable. The padded seats, even more leg room to relax, the service is prompt and efficient, and the little cup holders prevent you from having to reach under your seat for your drink. These little things, for a few extra dollars, are worth it once and a while to treat yourself. The more relaxed setting enables you to enjoy the event more.
The acoustics in the Garden are excellent. Of the many concerts I have been to they have all been clear and smooth. Most arenas have poor acoustics and tend to vibrate the sounds, the Garden however is very clear and crisp with great visuals coming out of the jumbo screen over center court.
I have been fortunate enough to sit in the sky box or luxury box as some refer to it, in the Garden and my experience was exquisite. The food was excellent and the service was prompt and organized. The room is very spacious and cozy with plenty of chairs and couches to sit down in. Near the end of the game the server brings a tray of food into your suite with tremendous candies, pies and other desserts on it that were very tasty. The overall view is breathtaking. Some people enjoy a birds eye view more than others but I would still highly recommend it at least to try.
The only down sides of the Garden are the parking, (but what place does not have this problem) and the very expensive food. The Garden is located above the T stop North Station and this provides a VERY CONVENIENT way of going to an event. Parking can be a problem unless you leave very early for the event, however to avoid it all together and go in at a regular time, just take the T in and avoid all parking troubles. I would highly recommend doing this for any tourists who are not very familiar with Boston. The Orange Line, Green Line, and the Commuter Rail are the only modes of subway transportation to get into the Garden for those of you who are wondering.
The only other down side to the Garden is the exaggerated food prices. Although the food is good, I do not know too many people who would be willing to pay $3.00 for a bottled water, or $4.75 for nachos. An easy way to avoid this would simply be to eat before you go to the event, this way you save yourself some money and get to enjoy the event on a full stomach.
Overall the Garden is a great place to hold events. I would recommend it to any tourists and to people from the immediate area, to go and enjoy a game, concert, or match.
