Pros: Lightweight, large screen, reasonably priced.
Cons: Short battery life. Replacement parts are expensive!
The Bottom Line: As always, in my experience with Toshiba, great value for the money.

| alaskaren's Full Review: Toshiba Satellite A15-S129 (PSA10U-0ZH6MV) PC Note... |
This is my second Toshiba laptop, now about two years old and as I write, I'm shopping for my third.
I'm convinced this particular one slipped by quality control before it got to me: When I purchased it, it wasn't even formatted; no Windows loaded, it was blank! I had to do it myself with the disk. Also, the built-in wireless card wasn't - built-in, that is - it was missing. (I didn't have the wireless network when I first purchased the computer, so I didn't need or try to use it, and subsequently didn't realize that part was missing until more than a year after I bought the computer.)
After two years of heavy use, the hinges in the lid are starting to let go and it has a tendency to slam closed on me unexpectedly, sending everything into hibernation.
I did have to replace the fan about 6 months ago, but all in all it has held up well with daily use. (I don't count the coffee in the keyboard, that was MY fault and of course not covered by the extended service plan - expensive lesson.)
There's so many models of the Satellite in the low-to-mid price range; these are great little computers and can handle the average user's demands with ease. Aside from the formatting and wireless issue that I'm sure was a unique problem, I LOVE this computer. I'm ready for a newer upgrade with a bigger screen.
