We have 3 of these fans, one for each bedroom and one for the living room. We used them all summer. Allowed us to keep down the cost of air conditioning by setting the thermostat just a little higher in the summer. In the spring and fall it helps cool the room without the air conditioning.
These fans are just ok. I don't know if I will keep them next summer.
Space wise, they are great. They occupy only a small footprint. And since they are not a standard oscillating fan, they can be placed almost anywhere.
They use a remote, which is real handy, especially when lying in bed or too lazy to move from the couch.
There is a 'pocket' on top of the fan for storage of the remote when not in use.
There is an adjustable timer which allows you to set the fan to shut OFF after 1/2 hour or up to approximately 6 hours of use. Great for night time or in the kid's room.
Three speeds and oscillating.
But I'm not totally happy with it.
The fan is rather short. The base cannot be extended upwards. So if you place it in your bedroom, part of the fan is just blowing air onto the side of your bed, rather than on you. The standard oscillating fans usually have an adjustable height and can concentrate all the air movement on you, where it counts.
The fan is nosier than I expected. I don't know why the manufacturer claims there is a "quiet" mode. I can't find it. Especially at night, when watching tv at low volumes, the fan suddenly seems very loud and annoying.
The fan features a 'night' mode which is supposed to give you the feeling of a natural breeze coming in from an open window.
It doesn't work, in my opinion. What it does is turn the fan ON and OFF repeatedly. So, in the quiet of the night, you can hear the fan turning ON and OFF, over and over and over. Very annoying. I turned that feature OFF after only a few minutes.
At higher speeds it is very loud. I think it is as loud or louder than standard fans.
When setting the fan with either the remote or by pressing the buttons on the unit, it BEEPS each time! That is real annoying. Especially at night when you are trying to set it quietly, without waking anyone. The BEEP feature should have the option of being turned OFF.
The fan works. It's not expensive. It does have a remote control. But it is not as good as I expected. The noise level is my biggest beef.
The spacesaving design of this tower fan provides for a lot of flexibility. It fits easily into or in between narrow spaces. It includes a convenient ...More at Target
