nsheldon's Full Review: General Electric 21011 2.4 GHz Twin 1-Line Cordles...
This dual-handset 2.4 GHz cordless phone has a number of useful and cool features. The ability to conference call between both handsets and the base speakerphone as well as the ability for both handsets to act as "walkie-talkies" without the need for the base nearby are convenient, fun features. Independent 50 number phonebook memory for each handset and separate 50 number memory for the base are also handy. Having the base unit number pad and access to caller ID information is a welcome feature of the 21011GE3.
Some things I wish GE had added are a Visual Message Waiting indicator light for my phone company provided voice mail service, an indicator when another phone (other than a handset or the base of the 21011GE3) is off the hook, the ability to use a wider variety of characters and lower-case letters in phonebook entries and handset names, and much better range.
The sound quality of the 21011GE3 is quite good compared to some other 2.4 GHz Digital Spread Spectrum phones I've tried, even in my wireless 802.11b home network environment. However, the range is very poor for this frequency band.
Given the options and price, this is probably the best value for a dual-handset 2.4 GHz DSS telephone setup.
