Pros: Results, size, feel, ease of use.
Cons: Fiddly conversion lenses. Time taken to write tiff and raw files to card.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this to anyone who is a keen amateur and does not require the versatility that interchangeable lenses will give.

| islandjoe's Full Review: Olympus Camedia C-8080 Wide Zoom Digital Camera |
This camera replaced an old friend - a Canon A1 slr - and I was not holding out too much hope that it would give really satisfactory images. How wrong I was. This is a superb camera with first class results. Limitations exist with the size of print you can realistically expect, but 10 x 8 is no problem at all. The metering is excellent and the white balance perfect. With a polarising filter outdoor shots can be very dramatic.
It has a nice ergonomic design, good weight and is comfortable to hold with all of the controls easily accessible. Battery life also seems very good.
I bought the wide conversion lens and although this gives first class results I have a word of caution. Screwing on the lens adapter tube is fiddly and you have to be careful not to cross the threads. Worse still, it is easy to get the order of turning the bayonet rings on the adapter tube and the lens wrong resulting in the lens falling off.
On the down side, tiff and raw images take a long time to write to the picture card but as I don't know how this compares to other digital cameras it may be an unfair criticism.
Still, a wonderful camera that is not too bulky and one that is capable of taking great pictures.
