Pros: Great progressive scan output
Cons: Menus not intuitive
No eject key on remote.
The Bottom Line: A must for people with HD ready sets. Picture quality on regular TV's is also superb.

| apcarandang's Full Review: Philips DVDQ50AT DVD Player |
This is my 5th DVD player. Decided to upgrade my JVC GD723 progressive scan DVD player. The JVC is a great player but does not handle video sourced material.
Out of the box the Q50 doesn't have the heft I'm used to when compared to my first Sony DVD player (DVP7000). The manual is quite simple and setting up the DVD is also quite easy. Set up took me no more than 3 minutes.
Video quality is excellent. I haven't seen traces of the chroma bug yet or maybe my set already has the upgrade firm ware.
The Q50 has the Sage/Faroujda chipset which is one of the better chip sets for progressive scan DVD players and it shows. I haven't seen jaggies on DVD material so far.
It plays anything you throw at it. CD-R, MP-3 etc.
Great buy too.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who wants one of the best progressive scan players to date.
