Pros: Well worth the $39.99 price. Looks much more expensive.
Cons: Speakers are the weak link in this system.
The Bottom Line: Looks marvelous, worth the money paid - see review.

| harveyny's Full Review: jWIN JX-CD7000 CD Shelf System |
As someone who has designed custom sound systems since the mid 1970's, I've devoted the past 15 years to finding affordable audio equipment that performs well. I was shopping at Office Depot for printer ink and needed a $30 purchase so that I could take advantage of a $15 off coupon. I found this AM/FM/CD system for $39.99. The reason I purchased this was because I liked the looks and it was cheap. The reason I was looking for a really cheap system was because I wanted a audio system to take to work, but because things have a habit of growing legs at work, I didn't want anything expensive.
At $39.99 and 20% off, this product is well worth the money. Even the guys at work could not believe how cheap this system cost when they listened to it.
Let me say that I'm really nuts about sound. So the first thing I did was to take apart the AM/FM/CD unit and make a few minor modifications. Back at work, my coworkers could not believe how much better it sounded. I decided to modify the speakers next. When I took them apart, I determined that they were so poorly designed and the parts were so cheap (what could I expect at this price?) it was not worth the effort.
I decided to take my cheapest speakers, which cost me $100 and use them with this system.
How does this system sound in my office at work. One of my co-workers who has listened to systems from Bang and Olufsen and Miller & Kreisel thought that he was listening to a $1200 system. That was probably because I had removed all the labels from these products. Another co-worker who lives in a very wealthy neighborhood wanted to purchase this system from me. I have even hooked this modified system to the Celestion AVF302($799)speakers, and it was not all that bad.
A few days later,
If someone wanted a really outstanding system for a small space, attach some Athena BS-1 speakers available through Best Buy for about $150/pair to this Jwin AM/FM/CD player. How good would this system sound? It would sound better than the Bose Wave Radio/CD combo.
Have had a number of individuals who have listened to expensive audio audition this unit at my office at work. When asked how much they thought this system cost, their answer was $700 - $1200.
Quality audio is not about how much money you spend, but how you spend your money.
