| mattgordon's Full Review: Canon imageRUNNER 60 Laser Printer |
The imageRunner 60, is a 60 page-per-minute printer-only version of the popular, and VERY highly rated imageRunner 600 digital copier/printer made by Canon. They share the same, rugged and reliable printer "engine" or platform and it works.
With the same paper capacity, speed, and document finishing capabilities as it's copier stablemate, the iR 60 will print, sort, duplex, staple, punch, and saddle-stitch/fold your print jobs with incredible reliability, and quality at up to 60 pages per minute. This is a network printer, built for exceptionally high volumes. It will NOT allow you to scan your paper-based originals for copying, there isn't a "platen" (copying window to most of us) it's just a big flat tabletop surface. If you're shopping for a printer for your home office, click the "back" button now! This is an enterprise-sized printer for 200,000 pages each month!
The iR 60 uses a 5 million copy drum, for near-never replacement, and thus very low per page pricing, and a generous 33,000 page toner cartridge. Numerous folding, and finishing options let you create booklets (stapled and folded like a fine magazine) instantly from your computer and the corporate network! It's amazing, and easy to do.
The print driver...the dialogue boxes you see on your PC screen when asking to print and setting up your jobs to print are quite graphic, easy to use, and need next to no training for most computer-users to understand and master.
The machine is a great solution for enterprises requiring large volumes of PRINTED materials, with finished output ranging from stapled, to booklet-ized.
