| ccn158's Full Review: Aiwa TV-F2000 20 inch TV |
I never really associated AIWA with television manufacturing, indeed until only a couple of months ago I didn't know that they made them at all. However, this effort has pleased me, especially the sound quality. You can really tell that AIWA specialises in audio equipment.
I bought a couple of the sets for the office as I wanted 20 inches at a good price (being slightly shortsighted 14 inches is too small!). At just over $200, this was an excellent deal, and definitely would be a good second set, perhaps for the bedroom or kitchen.
The first thing that will strike you about the set is that it's very good looking, and very square - the styling is almost like a larger set, if you know what I mean. My sets in the office are mounted on a shelf on the wall - and when you've got two next to each other it looks very good.
Perhaps a clue to the decent sound quality is that, unlike many other sets, this model has two speakers at the front of the TV. The makes sure that sound comes out at a wider radius, and you can really appreciate it. In fact the output of the TV is 2X3W, an impressive statistic when you consider that most TV's do not give a power output.
The set comes with a nice remote control, which is easy to use, and also a host of other features, such as audio/video sockets, and sleep/timer alarm and a childlock. This means that you can hook your PS2 up to it, all whilst setting an alarm for you to get up tomorrow morning.
All in all, a superb value set, and as I said before, great if you just want a set for the kitchen or the bedroom. It comes highly recommended from me - don't be put off by AIWA's reputation only for making audio equipment.
