I got rid of all that stuff when I moved about four years ago. Cable is 99% a waste, to me. I do watch TCM occasionally, usually away from home.

Power (Reply to this comment)

mostly worked for Fox, and the Fox Movie Channel doesn't have a huge inventory from which to draw, so shows many of his movies often.
You don't have Turner Classic Movies? Fortunately, both TCM and FMC are part of "standard cable" for us, and I rarely change channels from TCM (recording away while I sleep most nights).

It's ok if they show them uncut, but if they interrupt them every 5 minutes with commercials and cut to fit the time it really doesn't do them justice. I'm glad some of these oldies are accessible again, though! :>

I have satellite, and yes they are showing some great old flicks lately, but I hate that I can't pause them if the phone rings or something like that happens..;)

I hate it that they are showing these great films on TV now. Makes me almost want to get cable again. :/
I bet you are a big Tyrone Power fan, Barbara. I know I am. Blood and Sand is my next review.

You can say that again. Power was the #1 box office star for Fox and the #1 Hollywood star for several years. No wonder Zanuck wanted to keep him in the proven moneymakers instead of artsy movies like this. I liked it but Power was not as believable as some could have been. For example, I just saw Power in Blood & Sand as the matador and Anthony Quinn in a bit part just about stole the picture away from him. Still, I like Power. Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, bud!

I bought this one a while back and what most impressed me about it was the fact that it was such an unsual role for Power (at least in my opinion).
