Larry23's Full Review: St. Francisville Experiment
I first saw "The St. Francisville Experiment" screened last April at the Los Angeles Film Festival and it was a hit! People (including myself) through out the packed theater jumped out of their seats several times from fright and then laughed uncontrollably at the antics of the cast. My girlfriend almost clawed me to death during the film! Afterwards, people couldn't say enough good things about the movie despite some of it's weaker points.
I personally think the ending could have been more complete. I enjoyed "St. Francisville's" cast more than Blair Witch's bunch - having said that I thought Blair witch was an amazing concept, and 'St. Francisville' is an attempt to cash in on that type of box office return.
The big question now is: Is mock-umentry, hand held horror a new genre? With MTV's "Fear" and other cable networks putting people in haunted castles etc, it just might be. I recommend 'St. Francisville' for some good scares and good laughs - It's light hearted and less serious than other "reality" horror flicks - I give it four stars - for it's new genre - Lars
