Mixed feelings and emotions overcame me throughout this movie. Between the classic tale of an "underdog" doing everything possible to overcome, and all the bloody encounters, I was simply impressed at how the two melded together.
This film is definitely not for the light at heart. Depicting the atrocious pass-time of the Roman Empire: watching "Gladiators" compete to the death... This particular story follows an exiled war general in his feat to overcome all odds and complete with the final wishes of his ruler.
The acting of everyone involved is superb, from the Gladiator himself to the young child of the Ceasar in rule. Throughout the film I was drawn into the story both emotionally and with intrigue following the action.
