I was actually expecting a cool film, but that’s not at all what I saw. I’m just glad I couldn’t afford to go to the movies, and had to wait for it to come out on video. Unfortunately I am the one who chose to watch Election and later felt bad making my friend sit through it.
It was definitely a lousy excuse for an MTV flick. Reese Witherspoon plays a great twit, but there wasn’t any depth to her character (nor any of them in reality). The odd mix of a lame story line, bad freeze frames (which I’m sure were supposed to make some theatrical point), and bad over-acting just didn’t do the trick for me!
There were some funny points that kind of off set my disappointment, but I still regret ever mentioning that I was interested in seeing this movie...
