I'm a huge M*A*S*H fan, and I eventually would like to get the whole series on DVD. That's a little rich for my blood now, though, so I'll just settle for watching it on TV! They used to air two episodes 5 times a week at 4:00, now they're on five times a week at 11:00. I preferred 4, but at least it's still on. Nice review!

MASH was the best of series tv. I didn't start watching it until 1979, while I was pregnant and having a tough time. After the first episode, I was hooked, and couldn't get enough. Thank heavens for re-runs. They, along with the newest episodes, let me watch and laugh/cry 14 times a week. OK. I was a Junkie created by the medical personel on MASH, and after all these years, still suffer withdrawl.

You said, you were happy because they could go home, but sad because they would not be together and see each other anymore. My sadness was selfish. I hated the idea that I would not be able to tune-in for new laughs, new insights, and new stories each Monday night. But I found some comfort in the re-runs, and looked forward to the spin-off......... It couldn't compare to MASH, and was quickly canceled. But today, I still try to catch some of the old shows weekly.

Everyone has a favorite episode. This was too hard to decide, so I chose one favorite for each character.
Hawkeye & his nightmares; Margaret's pregnancy scare; Radar's "My bear went off!!" episode; BJ and the meaning of his initials; Blake's final appearance(so sad); Potter and the sleepless night; Charles' Christmas chocolates to the orphanage(so moving);Mulchay gets angry; Klinger's record-beating efforts;Trapper's final episode; Frank calling Hot Lips an "Old warhorse", and the many episodes with Flagg and Sydney Freedman. But, that's this week. Next week I'll see another favorite I had forgotten. My greatest sadness was that I had taped the original movie and the series' finale on one tape, and my 10 year old taped over them in 1990. boohoohoo :(

Your opinion was great, well-detailed and informative. If I wasn't already a MASH-er, you would convince me to watch.

I recall the days of my friends and I watching MASH only to see Alan Alda's blue eyes. =)

Thanks for a well-put-together review with much information. It was a pleasure to read it =)
