Film history was made with "The Godfather". Many pictures have come and gone over the years, but The Godfather will always shine a little brighter among the various cinema masterpieces. Among my favorite actors: Al Pacino as Michael Corleone, and Marlon Brando of course as Vito Corleone (The Godfather). I own the entire Godfather saga.
This movie will basically entertain and appeal to most if not every audience simply because it contains so many interesting and realistic facets. There is the drama, but what really stands out in my mind is the play between the members of the Corleone family.
There is most certainly betrayal and at many times when watching this movie, you will be shocked, I know that I was.
Near the beginning of the movie, we see Michael (Pacino) as the "son with no dirt on his hands". He is seen as the "war hero", who is true and loyal to both his country and family. But later, we see him transforming into the very one that is the most involved with the family "business" and getting his hands the dirtiest of all the Corleone's put together..
This film will most likely shock you with the twists and turns and the emotions of this notorious family known as "The Corleone's".
I truly recommend "The Godfather" as well as the continuing two sequels of part II and III.
When thinking about various movie sequels, I am often leary of them as most of them never quite measure up with the original.
But this is not the case with the Godfather sequels. I found the last one just as moving and attention grabbing as the first, and I absolutely loved the second one.
This movie certainly appealed to me and I am not into crime dramas and "mafia" flix, yet there are many points in this film that will both grab your attention and keep it. This film tends to delve so deeply into the act of betrayal, while at the same time we see just as deeply into solid commitment to one's family at any cost.
