yoopers3's Full Review: All I Want for Christmas Is a Real Good Tan by Ken...
Kenny adds a country sound to traditional style as well as Kenny style Christmas songs. As well as the title track done completely Kenny style!
One of my favorite songs on this CD is the title track, "All I Want for Christmas Is a Real Good Tan" There are no words to describe this song. I've never heard a song quite like this one. A touch of humor, a touch of romance, "Just you and me falling deeper in love" and a touch of the traditional, "Everybody is talking about a Christmas of white, come to think about it that would all right as long as it's sand and not snow on the ground."
"Jingle Bells" Kenny Chesney Style! It has a beat you can dance and a unique verse. "You know I hate the cold, that's why I always go, down south to drink some rum, on an island in the sun. There's nothing like St. Barts with the palm trees swinging slow or being there on the ose-van-dyke when the new year comes and goes!"
"Pretty Paper," a duet with Willie Nelson.
"Pretty paper, pretty ribbons of blue, wrap your presents to your darlin' from you."
Another one of my favorite songs on this CD is "He's Just a Kid" that makes me remember the true meaning of Christmas.
"The Pharocies just scoffed and drank there wine, they say He's only Hebrew prophecy we don't care and besides He's just a kid, that's all he is. One more pebble in the gravel, one more rumor in the rabble, how can He be king, He's just a kid."
And it reminds me that no matter how much fun I'm having, that it's important to think about the reason for the season. "Now I think about the baby and the man at Christmas time, the gift that we were given and the price."
As well as traditional carols, done traditionally. Silver Bells, Silent Night, Away in a Manger, and O Little Town of Bethlehem.
