Erin - there's no denying that both men have gobs of talent; I think it just comes down to preference, and that's where you and I part ways. I do appreciate Clay's vocal talent, and would kill to be able to sing like him, but I'm just not a fan of the music he's singing right now.

thanks for the comment!

Clay and Josh (Reply to this comment)

It's interesting you mention them both because I can scarcely think of one without thinking of the other. At least, I can't think of Josh without thinking of Clay, because I never heard of Josh until I heard all the comparisons that were made during the second season of "Idol." I love "You Raise Me Up," and I agree Groban is a phenomenal talent, though my proclivity for preferring music whose lyrics I can understand prevents me from becoming too terribly taken with his music. I just can't get too into opera, I guess, and Josh is slightly over-the-top for my taste. I prefer Clay, and I think his voice is just as good, simply not professionally trained. But I'm glad Josh has done so well. He deserves it. Great review!

..I'm an absolutely crazy Corrs fan (yeah, hopelessly addicted to Andrea), I've recorded their duet from this CD last summer (my friends have it in their collection). Wasn't quite that impressed with the rest of the stuff.. I guess it's simply not me :)

Give me indie or Sting (or the Corrs) anytime!

A marvelous review though. Happy New Year AGAIN!!!!

Paul's Tearjerker Moments... (Reply to this comment)
by plorentz
Okay, since you shared your embarrassing tearjerker moments (and "Dumbo"s a good one), it's only fair I share mine-

I cry during the Kate Bush song "This Woman's Work" in the movie "She's Having a Baby".

I sob uncontrollably at the end of "My Dog Skip"

Just this last weekend, I was watching "Pollyanna" on the Hallmark Channel, and I got all teary-eyed when the whole town came to see Pollyanna after she was crippled.

And I still get choked up by Cyndi Lauper's video for "Time After Time"...

What he really needs to do is: be like Josh Groban...

Amen brotha. I can't even begin to have the respect for Clay that I have for Josh. Even though I have a list of nit-picky items I'd like to take to with Josh, he is heads and shoulders above Mr. Idol.

So Andrew Babe, as I sit here, under the influence of some major drugs (I think Shilmafone made me sick - AGAIN) I just wanted to say one of the best parts about 2003 was having the opportunity to interact with my favorite tomato and Sting fan. You're an awesome guy. I look forward to physically meeting you in March when I make my way out to that big state of Texas.

Much love, Kristina
