ThobyAdams's Full Review: Trailer Boats Magazine Subscription
This magazine should be more properly titled "Bass & Water Sport Boats." It writes almost exclusively about bass boats, outboard motors (big ones!), and boats designed for water skiing. Think about it.... Probably 90% of the boats manufactured for those purposes are trailerable; so what's the point of publishing a magazine entitled "Trailer Boats." Once one understands the pointlessnes of the title, one comes to understand why if you've read this magazine twice a year, you've read them all.... The section that does deal with strictly trailering topics - that portion devoted to tow vehicles - is, again, repetitious, although more useful than the boat reviews which have a consistent similarity. I suscribed because I hoped the Mag. would review trailerable boats used for cabin cruising, weekending and longer excursions, and boat camping. There is never a comment on these types of water craft. Review after review touts various manufacturers and models of remarkably similar boats and engines skimming the water at 40+ MPH (occasionally 50+ MPH!) getting 3MPG. It's hi-octane boating fantasy with the inevitable bikini-clad passenger stretched out on the foredeck. My advice: Read this magazine at the newstand and save your money
