| pyleman's Full Review: MacAddict Magazine |
MacAddict was the first Mac-centric magazine to really take on a forcefully pro-Macintosh attitude in its content, reviews, and editorials. But don't let the humor and quirky "Mac rules" style make you think that MacAddict doesn't contain lots of good, useful information. Its "how to" articles are especially helpful, explaining in easy-to-understand terms the ins and outs of making the most of new products and getting the most out of your Mac. The magazine doesn't forget about older computers, either, and often covers upgrading and tips for getting the most out of aging Macintoshes. My dad recently was inspired to upgrade his Performa 6400 based on an article in a recent MacAddict.
The MacAddict reviews are also helpful, and a good "real world" indication of the worth of a product or software package, and I generally trust their "Freakin' Awesome" rating as a good indication that a product really is good.
Also, each MacAddict issue includes a CD-ROM with software (shareware, freeware, demos, etc.), which is a great resource for those without access to a fast connection and a real blessing for modem users.
