| meetmissy's Full Review: Country Living Gardener Magazine |
You don't necessarily have to live in the Country to read this magazine.
It has sections that can suit anyone's climate or gardening preference.
The sections are broken up as follows:
Gardening This can include Annuals or perennials or special gardening issues like Sanctuary's for Hummingbirds or just helpful idea's to perk up your garden area
Decorating, Building, & Crafts The title sort of speaks for itself- depending on the season there are idea's to help you get in the spirit of the season or maybe just summery ideas like dried flowers or wreath making how to's and tips.
Traveler's Joy This is a special section an a designated area chosen by the writer. Usually has very beautiful photo's.
Special Features This depending on the season will give you tips or suggestions about what is going on in certain parts of the country that may include gardening aspects - such as Tomatoes or maybe arranging flowers. This includes a gardening calender of events you as a gardener may be interested in attending. Sort of like a convention.
Food and Entertaining This has recipes using garden grown vegetables or herbs The recipes are usually quite elaborate for the more advanced cook
Beauty & Health How to use natural treatments to remedy skin, hair body etc - such as sunburn issues.
Regular Features These are what is included in each issue - Sections on tools of gardening (what is hot sort of thing) Questions and Answers about Gardening sorts of articles.
Garden and Building Plans This might include a section on how to plant your annuals or how to build a trellis or some other easy to difficult project.
What is really nice is that in the back of the magazine is a section on where you can get hard to find seeds or order hard to find plants.
The magazine is Usually about 100 pages filled with beautiful photo's and interesting idea's.
I buy this per issue rather than subscribing - it is bi-monthly if you do subscribe but I prefer to choose my gardening magazines according to my needs.
I like this magazine better than Sunset Because it has less advertisement area and more idea's about how to use plants and flowers and not so much on traveling. In comparasion to Better Homes and Gardens this is less the decorator type of magazine and more the GARDENING - as the title suggests.
I like it as a different magazine to read and get some interesting gardening idea's.
