Wow, I don;t know where to start. My wife and I received this item as a wedding gift and returned a blender and food processor (separates) thinking that this product should work fine for use. Well, my first experience using the item was making smoothies when I noticed that it didn't want to blend very well. It had a hard time blending some ice cream, bananas and frozen strawberries. I did have the unit a little full, so I just chocked up the issues to user error (me overloading). A few weeks passed and I wanted to make a pie with graham cracker crust and broke out the unit again. I initially filled the bowl pretty much full and the blades wouldn't turn at all, so I started taking out the pieces till I just got frustrated and dumped them all out. With the bowl empty, the blades turning, I dropped in 2 pieces (basically 1/2 of a graham cracker broken in 2 pieces) and they STOPPED the blades! How is it that graham crackers can stop blades on an item that's Supposed to be a food processor? What do you think would happen if you dropped in some onion and peppers for a salsa base? I'm not even sure this thing could process an over-ripe tomato.
Needless to say, I'm Extremely disappointed with this product. It's performed worse than our old blender and food processor (both $10 specials at Walmart or the like) and will soon be disposed of (I'm not sure I'd want to sell this thing to someone else it's such junk, I'm not even sure I'd be willing to donate it!!). This was my first experience with the Cuisinart brand and I'm sure as heck not going to spend MY money to use their stuff again.
