Opinion Summary
A Blow to Starbuck's Bottom Line
by forkids | May 17 '00
Pros: Makes a perfect cup of coffee using fresh beans, a pause and brew that works, a lid that minimizes air flow for a better cup of coffee
Cons: Yeah, there are more parts to clean

Almost my "dream machine" (Reply to this comment)

Thanks for a great review! I'm am in search of my "dream coffee machine", as I've stated in a review of my current carafe unit. Your review indicates this model has everything except the carafe, but more features that I didn't think of! Thanks much.~Melynda

smell of coffee but not the taste! It reminds me of my grandparent's house. Sounds like a great machine though!

My coffee pot isn't very old but I've wanted one of these type for awhile. I agree about the Krups grinder. I love the little thing but it would be wonderful to skip a step every morning. Between you and Sweeper, I'll be visiting Macys tomorrow, much to hubby's dismay. Thanks for the great review. Jacquie

This is the best, most comprehensive review I've seen on this product ever! I would love a timer and auto-shutoff, but my little KitchenAid has neither. I think I might go buy one of those little timer thingamajigs that I can connect my coffemaker to....

The things we do to wake up to a fresh cup o'brew, huh?

Excellent job, forkids!

Mmmm...coffee! (Reply to this comment)

I have one of these, too, but I bought it before the price dropped :(

I absolutely love it! Grinding your own beans tastes soo much better. I do like that you can put pre-ground in it - sometimes I run out of beans!

You did a great job reviewing this machine. If I didn't already have one, I'd be on my way to the store!

Yikes! Now I want one! (Reply to this comment)

Just what I need, another thing to "want"! Till I read about this baby, I thought I was doing well, I was even a little smug, with my braun burr grinder, my programmable krups coffe/esspresso/cappucino machine, and my shipped-twice-a-month Starbucks fresh beans.

Beth,
Wow, you covered this far better than I. I guess I wrote from the perspective of a coffee addict rather than from a normal point of view. And I paid full retail for this baby. Dang. But you get the nod for BEST coverage of this most sacred of counter top appliances.
