| rpoythress's Full Review: General Electric JE1860 1100 Watts Microwave Oven |
Our church bought two of these about a year ago and we use them every Sunday. I know it's a different type workout from the workout one might get in a home, but they are used constantly for 30 minutes to an hour while everyone cooks or heats food for covered dish lunches. They are also used sometimes in the evening or to heat water for tea before Sunday school or between ss and church. GE doesn't recommend it for an institutional setting, but these work great in this setting. With many users, I am certain they get tested in many ways.
The microwave is easy to operate, with one-touch cooking for anywhere from 30 seconds up to 5 minutes. The 30 second button will also add 30 second button will also add 30 seconds to a cook time that is in process. It is powerful enough to heat stuff in a hurry. One feature that I like is that you can be using the timer to time something, but be using the microwave off and on while the timer runs. Mine at home is not that way, and it is a very helpful feature.
It has buttons for certain standard things like popcorn, reheat, etc. I can't vouch for all of them, but the popcorn one is amazing. It seems to pop to the last kernal and stop right on time. It's never burned any popcorn, something I can't say about other microwaves.
The stainless steel exterior makes it attractive and easy to clean inside and out. It is large enough to accommodate most any dish we might want to put in it.
