areddy's Full Review: General Electric Profile PDW7880G 24 in. Built-in ...
I had this expensive dishwasher for 2 years. Very quiet and ran well for this time. I thought I was purchasing a top of the line expecting at least a few good years of performance. How wrong I was!
It just conked off a month ago. The GE service technician took 2 weeks to come in, ordered a $300 control board, came back 2 weeks later and still was not able to figure it out or service it.
His advise, buy a new one!
I bought a new unit today, this has no LED counter on the front. I had to only buy a GE Profile, as it matched with my other units in the kitchen
I feel cheated by GE. If its own service man cannot repair it, who do we go to. This is a bad product from GE.
I do not recommend this unit to any one again. You do not need all the features, my wife probably has never touched any of the options... a simpler more elegant model with reliable operation should have worked fine. Also, the control costs $300, too high as a spare part. Why bother buying a control board for $300 when you can buy a cheap dish washer for $400 or so. Anyway my 2 cents.
It was definitely not worth the price I paid for it.
