Doom 2, sequel to Doom and Wolfenstein 3-d, is a success once again by the brilliant minds by id Software Co. It boasts of a good arsenal fit for the conquerors of hell. It makes me dazed at the sight of demons trashed out literally. I purchased this game because it was good. Weapons are sleek-looking. Demons look frighteningly real and story is captivating.
The story began the moment you left Mars, where demon infestation began (somehow reminded me of the Lunar Cry at Final Fantasy VIII, but that's another story). You never took time off monster head-bashing due to the fact that hell-spawns took over God's green earth. You got up and went, hoping to find the boss enemy that is the master of Hell himself. (More story and action continues with the mission packs TNT Evilution and Plutonia Experiment.)
Wading 30+ levels of intense action of gore, I think it is the great-great-granddaddy of First-person-shooting games. The downplay is that this game is the subject of intrigue, especially that extreme blood-spewing scenes of the game. I've played this game when I had my 486-processor type of computer in DOS version, and it runs incredibly smooth!
Although I felt sorry that this game is so violent (and that I can't play this game again), I never felt sorry I played Doom 2, one of the coolest games in PC.
