mshantar's Full Review: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 for Nintendo 64
Probably the most innovative game in terms of game play, excitement, and replayability to ever come out for the N64.
Where all other skateboarding games have failed before, Tony Hawk takes flight by providing the player with the thrill and exhilaration of skateboarding...without skateboarding.
The main reason this game excels over all other boarding games is game play. The fact that the controls feel like a natural extension of one's hand, rather than learning how to type all over again is sheer joy.
The graphics are great if you have the memory expansion pack, and passable if not.
The music will obviously not be as good as the PlayStation version because of the memory constraints, but it's not that tinky MIDI stuff, it is lower samples of CD music.
