Tecknomages's Full Review: Expendable for Dreamcast
In the 80's when Contra for the Nes came out, I was one of the first to play it. In fact it was my first "Real" video game i had ever played, not including games like pong or pac man. I was amazed and awed by that Contra, and i played it on days end, in fact i still have it.
You can imagine my delight in finding such a game years down the line in the dreamcast game "Expendable". I was totally blown away by the graphic representation of carnage of war in the game. The sound effects were on par, and suited the feel to the game. In short this game ROCKS!
There have been those that have said that there are too many explosions on screen, especially in 2 player mode, and that they clutter the screen to much. At times there may be a truth to this, but it has been my experience that those are very rare times. This game is great. It is the Contra of the New Millinium.
If this game is any indication of what we can see from rage in the future, then they are definatly going to be a big contender on the dreamcast console.
