| nines's Full Review: Sony CDX-2250 CD Changer |
The Sony in-dash 2250 is a very reliable unit, designed to be user-friendly. (I figured it out without reading the manual!) FM receiver is adequate in both fidelity and sensitivity for most areas. The CD deck is not overly picky as to home-made CD's (use gold type only!) Super bass is handy in auto, idiot-proof adjustment. The volume control is not highly sensitive...lots of turning for small volume difference (nice feature, especially if using hi-power amps with unit. Has pre-outs for front only, has adequate power output for in-dash speakers with little or no distortion. Have 2 of these units installed in cars, both work well. Very satisfied, especially considering the cost, about 200.00 at discount houses. Detachable face discourages theft. Not overly fancy in the features department, serves its function well. Displays the time when not displaying somewhat annoying lights flashing about....suspect designed for the younger set that likes moving things in the dash???
