Blimey, oakenfold sound different on these..
I bought this pair of headphones a few months ago and so far they haven't dissapointed me. The bass booms when you increase the volume and the treble is clear. It works perfectly with my sony discman, plus it's comfortable to wear.
I'm attending summer school now in Berkeley, and the Koss ear phones that are provided in the computer clusters are clearly a cut below the sennheiser. The bass is not reassuring and the volume is a tad too soft. So nowadays I bring my 490 and programming began to be more enjoyable.
But as you might already know, sennheiser makes fabulous audio equipments like microphones and headphones. So most of their stuff is better than what's packed into the average discman, walkman or most other audio-players.
A note for all you be-spectacled people, the relatively large muffs might cause the frame of your glasses to distort if worn too tightly.
So if you're a little tight, but demand still demand good sound output, consider the sennheiser HD 490. Quality is assured.
