| therd's Full Review: Aiwa CDC-MP3 Car CD Player |
I have had two units. The first over heated all the time and wrecked my mp3 collection ( CD-R's keep out of heat! That's how you got the mp3 on there in the first place). It skipped and paused all the time. I thought I got a bad unit. So I sent it back and requested a working unit. But this was when they first came out and were back ordered. Three months later I got a new unit. It only skipped a little so I kept it. As time went on the skipping and pausing got worse. It's not the bumps in the road that cause the pausing and skipping. I burned a new mp3 disk and left it in the CDC-mp3 unit not removing it once. It played great at first. Then as the desk kept getting hot it slowly started to degenerate. It started to pause more and more. Finally it quit playing altogether. After that no cd would work. It over heated to the point of wrecking the IC chip. I drove over 50 miles to an Aiwa repair site. They sent the unit back to me and it still did (or should I say didn't do) the same thing, ERROR 3 on any disk. I sent a letter to the president of Aiwa about my unit and they had their head problem solver call me. She had me send my unit to them and they found the fried IC and replaced it.
I don't want a CDC- MP3 I know what a piece of garbage they are.
I have been collecting what others have had to say a bout them and started my own web site. Check it out!

1. Freezing skipping is very bad
2. Remote will only work if pointed directly at the deck, it doesn't work very
well when placed on the steering wheel.
3. The volume!! you have to turn the volume up to like 50 for it to get loud,
you have to keep turning and turning the knob.. what a pain!
4. Flashing blue lights when you press buttons.
5. Isn't very compatible with a very wide range of CD-R Media.
6. The VUmeter takes up over half of the display, you only get a few letters
of the artist/title, it has to scroll for like an hour before you find out what song you are listening to.
7. The deck looks cheap, almost like a toy.
8. Long delay waiting for CDs to load/change tracks.
9. Songs do not start off where they left off.
10. Error 03
11. Deck gets extremely hot in a matter of minutes and wrecks the mp3 disk.
12. Face plate is a pain to attach/detach
CDC-MP3-I think there should be a class action lawsuit against Aiwa!
