I chose Ricochet by Metricom because the idea of a wireless modem was great in comparison to using a ISP that tied up my phone.
The service although at times very slow , was not that bad. I had a lot of interrupts which was aggravating and there were a few times I could not connect.
I certainly did like hearing my phone ring when I was online!
Now here is where I explain the "major problem" that led me to my title; one day I just lost my service! Ricochet left my area as far as residential service and somehow neglected to tell me that they were going to discontinue servicing me!!!
Needless to say I will not recommend a company that handles business in such a sloppy manner. Wireless is great; however Metricom has a ways to go if this is normal treatment of customers. The only way I would try the service is if you have a contract to protect you from having this happen.
