I bought this car for my kids when they were attending college, for simple, inexpensive, and warranteed transportation to and from school, and considered the car as a throw away expendable. It is a 2.2 coupe with 5 speed, A/C, C/D, wing and locks, for those who care. I figured two college kids should be able to wipe this thing out in 24 months max. However, in 78,000 miles I have replaced the tires, battery and brakes, just once. That's it. The car has been and still is remarkably dependable. The radio and CD work fine, A/C is still nice and cold, the car is still getting over 30 MPG combined driving, it is doing exactly what it was designed for.
That's my problem! The kids have now graduated, bought their own homes and cars, and dear old dad is left with the hand-me-down Sunfire. I want something new, but the car is paid for, has lots of miles left in it and I really can't justify trading it in for something newer, other than an ego boost.
Any suggestions, anyone???
