I come from a family that has long relied on Vicks cough syrup for relief from various symptoms due to the common cold. Vicks 44D is the one I tend to use most often to relieve my cough, congestion, and a stuffy nose.
Vicks 44D has many qualities about it, that separates it from other cough suppressant medications I have tried or multiple symptom medications. First of all, it has a pleasant taste, which is very important in my desire to even take any liquid pain medication. The cherry flavor is balanced & smooth, easy to take and leaves no bad aftertaste. I have been turned off by other syrups just from their bitter & downright nasty taste.
Vicks 44D works fast to help me to feel better. Instantly I feel as though I can breathe better and am getting more air into my lungs. The cough is quieted and I no longer feel like I sound like a barking seal. I get overall relief from not having that hacking cough, which in turn makes my chest ache horribly.
Vicks 44D also works well to relieve the pressure in my nasal cavity & break up my congestion. The terrible headache that accompanies my cold, from all the compounded pressure of my congestion, is also relieved from my use of this product.
A big plus that comes along with using Vicks 44D is not having to worry about it affecting me in such a way that I feel drowsy or tired. More times then night, I have to go to work while I am fighting a cold, and it is very important that the medication I am taking does not alter my performance from rendering me unable to focus on the tasks at hand. I can take my dosages on regular schedules & don't have to stop taking it during work hrs.; like many other suppressants I have tried.
While with other cold suppressants, formulas, and pain relievers haven't always delivered what they have promised in the way of fast acting, & long lasting relief; Vicks 44D has always made the grade in my book. I find relief for a good 6+ hrs. with one standard dosage.
Vicks 44D has always been one of the more reasonably priced syrups, and has proven itself much more effective to me then other brands costing twice as much. Although I don't think I will ever find a similar product that 100% meets all my needs for relief during a cold; this one is the best of the lot.
I always keep 2 bottles in the house, one for myself, and the other for any of my whining friends who happy to drop by; and are down right miserable because they couldn't be bothered to buy anything for their symptoms. On more then one occasion, a friend has sent deep gratitude & thanks, (after the fact); for offering them some Vicks 44D when they needed it most. They actually were able to experience some relief from their misery and ended up buying some for themselves.
So, I guess you could say, not only do I highly recommend this product, (I also share); so if you must grab ahold of my Vicks 44D to make you feel better & ease your discomfort, I am happy to oblige! :*)
