Take it from me, nothing is more miserable than a stuffy, runny nose. Throw in a little sinus congestion and pain and you've got your own little slice of hell on Earth. I, myself am what you would call a professional allergy sufferer. I say that because I get each and every symptom, at any time of year, for any reason at all. I believe that there are hundreds of factors that can trigger allergic sinus reactions, and I react to all of them.
Now that being said, I am constantly in pursuit of affective medication. I don't want to be on prescriptions if it isn't necessary, nor do I want to run to the doctor every few weeks for treatment or prescriptions. So mainly I rely on over-the counter medication. Tylenol Allergy-Sinus is my drug of choice for the time being.
The reason I chose Tylenol is because it was recommended by my doctor during my last pregnancy. Of course with the pregnancy came along increased allergies. I found that it was quite affective. My nose cleared up within an hour after taking the medication. This made my nights much more pleasant. It was also a plus knowing that it was safe for my baby. (Don't take my word for it if you are pregnant, but be sure and check with your doctor)
Now there was unfortunately a downside. I did get extremely drowsy when I took it. I will tell you though that I don't have a very high tolerance for medication when it comes to drowsiness. Even when taking the non-drowsy version, I became lightheaded and sleepy. This made it hard to take during the day because I have two older children to take care of and it wiped me out.
All in all it was worth it for the night-time relief, and maybe it would not affect someone else the way it affected me. I also take it now that I am nursing my baby and find relief from my summertime nasal problems. It's an excellent product and worth checking into if you are having allergy-sinus symptoms.
