Pros: It does do a nice job moisturizing my skin.
Cons: It is inferior to most other body butters I've tried.
The Bottom Line: This body butter is boring!

| chelledun's Full Review: Wild Cherry Body Butter Personal Care |
After rather lengthy hiatus, I recently returned to The Body Shop's website and discovered that a new product line was being offered which included Wild Cherry Body Butter. I love cherry scents and body butters, so I asked my husband to pick this product up for me without even performing a sniff test first. After all, how could it not be delicious?
Product Information Body butters are almost certainly The Body Shop's most famous product line. While classics like cocoa, satsuma, strawberry, and shea can be purchased year round, the "special edition" butters are so constantly evolving that one wonders if there is any fruit that The Body Shop hasn't yet repurposed into a lotion. Wild Cherry is one of the newest scents and will likely disappear again within six months, max.
The Body Shop's products can be purchased either in-store, online, or through a Body Shop at Home consultant. Like all other body butters, Wild Cherry comes in two different sized tubs. The large (6.8 ounces) retails for $20.00, the small (1.7 ounces) for $8.00. To be honest, I often buy the smaller size of a new scent despite the fact that it isn't a great deal ounce for ounce. Since I was sending my more economically husband, though, I asked for the large tub to avoid hearing about how it made more sense to buy the larger size. My Experience I expected Wild Cherry Body Butter to be sweet, sassy, and - well - "wild." My mother-in-law once bought me a cherry scented body lotion for Sephora and it was probably my favorite-smelling lotion I've ever had. Unfortunately, Wild Cherry Body Butter is not even in my top ten. Instead of being wild, this cherry scent is surprisingly mild. The lotion doesn't exactly smell bad, but it certainly doesn't smell like cherry. It just smells sort of like generic lotion/soap. Even the pale pink color is kind of wimpy. Overall, not so exciting.
In terms of functionality, my complaints are fewer. All body butters provide excellent moisturization and this one is no exception. I find them especially handy to have on hand in winter, when my skin gets dry and itchy and a lighter lotion just won't do. Wild Cherry is one of The Body Shop's softer body butters and is similar in texture to Satsuma. I personally prefer the thicker, less liquid butters like Peach or Shea Butter, but it doesn't really matter all that much. All body butters can be messy coming out of the tub, and I usually feel the need to wash my hands after applying the butter to my body. I never have any skin sensitivity problems with The Body Shop's products, perhaps because the company is pretty picky about its ingredients. Overall . . . Wild Cherry Body Butter is surprisingly unexciting and I wish I was not stuck with a giant tub of it. This scent is neither "wild" nor particularly "cherry." If you're looking for something tart, sweet, and pink, check out The Body Shop's delicious Pink Grapefruit line instead.
