Pros: lose weight, feel better about yourself, handy grocery guide and recipe book that goes along with this book
Cons: you may not see your results as quickly as you would like, but at least the pounds will stay off once you do lose! I don't really think there is any cons to this diet!

| ahines's Full Review: Sugar Busters!: Cut Sugar to Trim Fat Books |
I really hope I can do this way of eating justice with this review. I am not only going to review the Sugar Busters hardback diet book, but I am also going to go over the SB Grocery Guide and the SB Recipe book.
I can't call this a diet, at least not for me. I don't handle diets very well. But, the Sugar Busters way of eating changed the way I looked (physically and emotionally) in just a few months. This book is an easy to read book that really makes sense and makes a difference in your dress size.
I started this better way of eating about 7 months ago when I found myself overweight from giving birth (after my second child). I was disappointed in myself for gaining the weight that I did and knew I would have a hard time getting the pounds off because I just can't stick to a diet. When my dad told me how much he lost by eating the Sugar Busters way, I nearly fell out of my chair. I knew at that point I *had* to get this book and start my change immediately!
So, on to Barnes and Noble (website) I went. I ordered this book and the smaller Grocery Guide book as well as the recipe book. I found myself engaged in this book from the moment I received it. It explains why you need to cut out sugars. Not only do you have to watch out for sugar that is added to food, but you need to be conscious as to whether or not a particular food turns into sugar. There are certain foods that I thought would be good for me because they are vegetables, but I was wrong. Some of the things you need to avoid on this diet are corn, carrots, beets, all white breads, pastas, rice, etc. Anything with enriched wheat or white flour is a huge no-no. This book explains how to read labels on the foods to know whether or not that food will turn into sugar after eating it.
The reason I like this way of eating is because the books that go with this particular book really help make it easier to buy the things you can eat. I mentioned a smaller Grocery Guide book. This book has categories for Fruits, Vegetables, Breads, etc... It lists what is acceptable under each category. So, if I am at the store and I see something I want, I just pull out my handy Guidebook and look it up. The recipe book is a great one to have as well. I can prepare an entire meal, from appetizers to desert, and know that everything I put in my mouth is good for me and will help me maintain my weight. This recipe book also has recipes for sauces. I was impressed with that because I love to use sauces on my meals.
So, to sum this up, the book(s) changed the way I looked on the outside and helped me like who I was on the inside. I ended up losing over 30 lbs in about 7 months. But, I am not finished loosing yet. I still have a few more pounds to go, but I know I will meet my goal the Sugar Busters way!
