manky's Full Review: E. B. White and Hector Silva - Stuart Little
Keeping in mind this is a young reader's classic, Stuart Little is a wonderful book. With larger print and great illustrations, it makes for a simple page turner.
I was sent this book by surprise after it had sat on my amazon wish list for quite some time. I immediately opened it up and easily flew through a couple chapters. Due to a bust schedule, the next time I picked it up was on a family vacation. In less than one day of spare moments I had finished Stuart Little, ready to pass it along to all the other readers vacationing with me.
In classic E.B. White flavor (he also wrote Charlotte's Web) each character [animal or not] comes alive with comedy, adventure and feeling. Each chapter covers a simple story line so that younger readers (and even shorter attention spans) can feasibly pick the book up only periodically.
My biggest complaint would have to be the ending (don't worry, I'm not giving away.) I just don't feel that it brought much closure to the story as a whole. I would have certainly enjoyed more in the ending.
