The Bottom Line: A good product that does exactly what it says it does. Rain-X is recommended for glass car windshields and other windows, too. Water just blows off.

Rain-X Glass Treatment
This is a product that is so good it makes you wonder how you got along without it.
Rain-X is a clear liquid that you apply to a clean glass windshield and then water, snow, fog, etc. will not stick. Water blows off if you drive and even if you sit still, if enough water accumulates, it beads and falls off. At worst, you will have to let your wipers swish across but you will definitely see a difference in the visibility and that means driving is safer for you.
Rain-X comes in several sizes. I usually buy it in a small 3.5 ounce bottle but sizes range up to the big 16 oz spray bottle.
Applying Rain-X is easy, if you have the small bottle of liquid, simply apply it to a clean soft cloth and wipe it on the clean windshield, or spray it on if you buy the large spray bottle and wipe it off with a clean soft cloth. You can spray it on the cloth and apply to glass to minimize wasting the product and overspray.
When Rain-X is dry, it is clear and very slippery to water. Any appreciable amount of water on your windshield beads up and runs off the glass or is explosively blown off if you are driving at speed.
In foggy conditions, Rain-X helps your wipers keep your windshield free of the mist. It also works great for snow and sleet. Any precipitation just blows off or is easily removed with your wipers. The point is, your visibility is greatly improved.
It is such a revelation to be able to see when it's raining, and I mean Rain-X works in torrential downpours, too. After using it, you'll wonder how you got along so long without it.
Rain-X is offered by car washes and detailers in their more expensive packages. That should indicate how highly its thought of among insider car people. They offer Rain-X because it works.
A small bottle should last you several applications and a larger 16 oz bottle, as shown here, will last several cars a whole year.
