I do have at least one good habit, and that's flossing every evening, and sometimes during the day as well. I always have dental floss handy. I've tried many different brands and styles, but it seems I always keep coming back to Crest Glide.
~ Product Description Crest Glide Deep Clean Floss Cool Mint is a flavored dental floss that is "micro-textured" and is shred resistant. The packaging tells us "With unique technology, Glide Deep Clean delivers deep cleaning power...and has up to 90% more microtextured surface area than Glide Original."
The packing further claims this floss:
- Provides a cooling blast of clean feeling every time you floss. - Silky smooth texture slides easily between teeth. - Gently stimulates gums and helps prevent gingivitis. - Contains a light coating of wax for improved grip.
The "Cool Blast" comes from the cool mint flavor. I wish, however, that Crest would provide the ingredients of the flavoring. I'm trying to avoid aspartame and fluoride, and I'd appreciate knowing if those happen to be an ingredient. Generally fluoride is mentioned in dental products, so I'm assuming it's not an ingredient. But still....
This floss comes in a small plastic case with a flip-up lid. When open the floss and metal cutter are revealed. The lid closes over the floss to keep it clean and sanitary. Also, when the lid is open there is a window where you can see how much floss is left on the roll, which I find very convenient.
You get 43.7 yds. of floss with the case, and I paid $4.59. I found this at my local drugstore.
~ My Experience
I have very tightly spaced teeth and lots of dental work. I've had problems with some floss shredding on my dental work, or being very difficult to get in between my tight teeth.
Crest Glide Deep Clean Floss Cool Mint is actually more like a dental tape, being wide and flat, rather than a flimsy string or thread. It is indeed silky smooth, and goes easily between my teeth. It is soft on my fingers as well. It has never, ever shredded or caught on my dental work, and it is very strong. The flat tape is easy to hold with wet fingers.
Crest tells us this is "micro-textured" but I can discern no particular texture either visually or as I floss. The Cool Mint flavor is noticeable and does freshen my mouth, but it's not super strong.
I've used this dental floss many times, and it has been pleasant to use, and cleans my teeth well.
~ Final Thoughts Crest Glide Deep Clean Floss Cool Mint is a great dental floss that is really more like a flat tape. It slips easily between my tight teeth, with no shredding or catching on my dental work. The Cool Mint flavor gives my mouth an extra feeling of freshness. This is a quality dental floss. Give it a try!
