| jemmccar's Full Review: Proactive Solution Renewing Cleanser |
I'm 22 years old and have always struggled with acne. I've been on everything from accutane to birth control to antibiotics to control it. Proactive is the only non-prescription product that works for me. My mom is actually the one who suggested it, and still is a member, after about 3 years of using it.
Admittedly, I don't use the 3 step system each time. I have the cleaner, the toner, and the moisturizer, but rarely do I used them all each time.
I use the cleaner everyday. The gritty substance really helps to clean out pores and makes your skin feel rejuvenated and fresh- without feeling dry or irritated. There is little scent, and what scent there is- is tolerable. It washes off easily and a little goes a long way. Sometimes I even dillute it with a bit of water so it goes on smoother.
I also use the moisturizer frequently. It's light and not greasy at all. Goes on easily and leaves your skin feeling moisturized, yet still clean. It doesn't clog pores or shine. And absorbs quickly so you can put on your makeup immediately following if you would like.
I don't use the toner as much as the other two products. I feel if I use it everyday my skin would be a little dry and irritated. I have very sensitive and dry skin though- so someone on the oily side would probably benefit from daily use of the toner. I personally saw great results without using it.
Proactive is a little on the pricey side, but I feel it is well worth it. Especially for someone who tends to have oily or combination skin. Someone with dry skin would still benefit from the moisturizer and even the cleanser too.
I never want to go through Accutane again, and I feel this product yielded the same effects- without the doctor's appointments, the blood work, the side effects, ect. For someone who is thinking about prescription acne medication, I would strongly recommend them to try Proactive first.
