My wife and I recently bought this TV as a belated engagement/wedding gift to ourselves. I had been contemplating either a 46" LCD or a 50" Plasma. I ultimately decided on this TV and I've been extremely happy with it. This unit compares very favorably to my 37" Sharp AQUOS that I've had for almost 2 years.
The TV has loads of inputs. On the back, it has 1 shared S-Video/composite/component (high def), 2 extra component (high def), 2 extra composite and 3 HDMI (high def) inputs. On the side, it also has extra composite, S-Video and USB inputs. The USB input allows the TV to display images or play music stored on USB devices. The TV design is very good too. The TV slides down securely onto a sturdy base and locks in place. The base isn't too wide or too deep. It's just the right size. The TV runs an initial setup program when you first use it to make several adjustments, which was very convenient.
The picture quality is outstanding. I've viewed a number of high definition signals on this TV and the picture quality easily matches my Sharp. It also a 1080p unit, meaning that it can display the highest quality high definition signal. There is also no blurring or other problems when viewing fast moving pictures. The only minor complaint is the obvious LCD problem of contrast ratio. The blacks aren't as deep as on a Plasma or a regular tube TV. Still, it's a very minor issue and certainly nothing to prevent this from being a great unit. One very nice feature this TV has is an automatic screen adjustment mode. In addition to the normal modes like wide-screen, zoom, 4:3, etc, it also has an automatic mode. With this mode, the screen actually finds the best compromise between all of these modes for each channel. I find this feature very handy. Even my Sharp doesn't have this nice feature.
The only problems I've experienced with this TV involve the remote control. First of all, it's very flimsy. It feels like it can easily break, even though it's been fine so far. Also, you have to point the remote DIRECTLY at the TV for it work. I once had a water bottle in front of the TV's infrared port and I could not get the remote to work even when pointed directly at the TV. I had to get up and move the water bottle. That's really surprising, considering that most remotes nowadays work fine even when pointed away from the TV. The infrared unit on this TV just doesn't seem to have the sensitivity or quality of those I've seen on other TVs.
Overall, this is an excellent TV. The picture and features are excellent. The price is great, too. If you're in the market for a TV in the 47" size range, definitely consider this one. You won't be disappointed.
