| dougmjones's Full Review: Pet Safe Standard Radio Fence System with Standard... |
An opinion from someone on the other side of these silly fences. Not from the point of view of the person trying to justify the purchase.
As the neighbors dog continues to not use the stupid buried radio fence my yard continues to collect baby ruth bars. Dog's learn various ways of just forging through the fence or just are too stupid to realize what is going on or which direction the pain is coming from. Don't those dog's read the owners manual or see the commercials ? NO !
The other brilliant thing the makers and buyers of this fence don't mention, it doesnt stop other dogs from entering the yard , eating food, starting fights. It also leaves a potential problem dog sitting out at the edge of the property waiting on interaction between cars , people and other pets going by. In some cases people are trying to walk their own pets and this causes a disruption no matter what you say.How would you like to walk down a sidewalk with your 3 year old child and step within 1 or 2 feet of a huge unknown dog lying at the edge of their yard ? Would you trust that invisible wire and stupid collar ? Not me, but the dog owner sure doesn't care. Why ? Because he has to justify this purchase.
Bottom line is that this product requires alot of training and even if it works its just a stupid idiotic idea. A dream. If you are a neighbor and you have built a nice fence and have leashes for your pets and your neighbor decides this radio fence is a nice way to let his dogs roam his front and back yard, get ready for a dog that lays around at the edge of the property and visits your house every day.
Plus get ready for the neighbor to leave the fence off all the time. They never run it all the time and the dog appears to roam freely.
This is the third or forth of these fences I have seen operate. Oh and also get prepared to cut every phone, cable and utility line you have trying to bury this stupid cable. As in the neighbor across the street's case he cut everybodies phone.
Good Luck to people too cheap and lazy to buy a real fence. I do realize that some remote areas might benefit from this product but if you live in a neighborhood or anywhere you must realize that this fence is NOT a real fence and does not provide the equal protection as a real fence. This would make a possibly good addition to a real fence if the dogs like to dig out. But as I said it keeps kritters in not out.
