Bad Experience

Pros: Inexpensive, pleanty of cars to rent. They did upgrade once I complained
Cons: Shaddy, tried to con me, overcharged for a flat, bad customer service.
The Bottom Line: I would not reccomend Payless/Advantage rental to anyone. In fact as my boyfriend said "Sometimes its better to pay $40 more"

My boyfreind and I reserved a rental car with Payless/Advantage Rental through Orbitz.
We traveled to Orlando (from Chicago) for a 6 day trip. Once I arrived at the airport, I could not call for a shuttle from the kiosk at the airport. After a huge run around, I was able to get a # that worked and was not disconnected or transfered to a voicemail.
Once at the rental office, they told me my "intermediate" car which was supposed to be equal to a "Dodge Stratus or simular" would be a Cavilier (MUCH SMALLER then an intermidate size). I told them that I would like a car bigger then that, seeing I paid for that. Finally they gave me a Ford Focus.
I walked out to the car and there were scratches up and down. The inside of the car smelled HORRIBLY of smoke, the glass that protects the guages was broken and the smoke and gotten in side of there. The windows were even streaked because of smoke. The driver side seat was VERY low to the ground and the lever to adjust it was broken.
At this point it was late, we were tired so we left without a fight.
2 days later we got a flat tire. It took Payless almost 3 hrs to bring us a new car. They did upgrade the car after I complained about service. They charged me $40 to come out with the new car. Then later on, I found out that they "could not fix the flat" The even went so far to claim that it looked like the tire was "gashed" or "slashed". There was NO slash in the tire.
They ended up charging me $130 for a tire on a Ford Focus!
When we dropped our car off at the end of the trip...I did not recieve a recipt, and they were increasingly rude to me.
